About The Position

Performs general fabrication processes to produce aircraft propeller parts and blades. Operates general equipment and hand tools. Works from a variety of media and documentation, improvising setups and exercising constant mental and visual attention to prevent errors. Sets up and maintains precise tool configurations. Uses pneumatic tools, mechanical hand tools, precision measuring instruments and gauges. Able to complete general shop math and use a computer for data entry and retrieval. Able to read and interpret blueprints and company and industry specifications. Highly dedicated to meeting customer commitments and incrementally improving the process. Encourages continuous improvement, recommends solutions, and assists with implementation. Ability to inspect own work once job proficiency is reached. Physically able to lift heavy items, push/pull heavy items. Requires general supervision to complete tasks and additional on-the-job training. Needs assistance to find solutions to solve problems. Listens to concerns and responds appropriately based on feedback given through the learning curve. Will learn to identify the need for improvements and be open to new ideas.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Requires the use of simple arithmetic, a limited number of measuring instruments and blueprints.
  • Less than 2 years of experience (could be more or less given performance/skills).
  • Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.
  • Daily tasks are completed without supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Action oriented and takes on challenges.
  • No instructions needed on routine work and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
  • Required to follow all safety guidelines for procedures and equipment.
  • Actively participate in daily ergonomic stretching exercises.
  • Ability to inspect own work once job proficiency is reached.
  • Physically able to lift and push/pull heavy items.
