Fabrication Supervisor
About The Position
A well-established manufacturing and fabrication company in the Jefferson, Iowa area is seeking a dependable, hands-on Fabrication Supervisor to help lead day-to-day operations within its fabrication department. This individual will oversee production flow, support fabrication employees, help maintain safety and quality standards, and work closely with plant leadership to keep projects and materials moving efficiently throughout the shop. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys both leadership and hands-on manufacturing operations. The company is looking for a practical, team-oriented leader who communicates well, follows through, and takes pride in running an organized and productive shop environment.
Requirements
- Previous fabrication, manufacturing, or shop supervision experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple moving pieces in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on mindset with willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and follow-through
- Dependable, organized, and accountable
- Ability to coach employees, provide direction, and support team development
- Comfortable working in an active manufacturing and fabrication environment
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
- Experience working around structural steel, fabrication equipment, welding operations, or industrial manufacturing environments is highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily fabrication department workflow and production schedules
- Help manage priorities and workload across fabrication workstations
- Coordinate production needs and communication with 2nd shift fabrication employees as needed
- Support and maintain fabrication quality standards and measurements
- Partner with plant leadership to reinforce shop safety procedures and expectations
- Assist with employee coaching, training, development, and performance feedback
- Help identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
- Coordinate with purchasing and inventory personnel to support material availability and production timelines
- Facilitate communication and coordination across shop teams and departments
- Help maintain organization, productivity, and accountability throughout the fabrication department
- Support inventory coordination and material flow throughout fabrication operations
- Assist wherever needed to help keep projects and production moving forward
