About The Position

Mobile Air & Power Rentals is seeking a skilled and hands-on Fabrication Supervisor to lead shop operations at our Indianapolis, IN facility. This role is a working supervisor position responsible for overseeing and performing fabrication, assembly, welding, materials handling, and shipping/receiving activities in support of rental equipment and manufacturing projects. The Fabrication Supervisor plays a critical role in driving shop safety, productivity, and quality while supervising a team of Fabricators/Welders. This position reports to the Fleet & Applications Director and is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment and leads by example.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment, including prior supervisory experience.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Basic proficiency with PC-based programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with internal teams and external partners.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Crane operation experience preferred.
  • G5 or higher welding certification highly desirable.
  • Shipping and receiving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and actively participate in all shop floor activities, including fabrication, pipefitting, welding, structural welding, and general machine assembly and repair.
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as cranes, saws, forklifts, and semi-tractor trailers.
  • Lead and enforce the Mobile Air Safety Program for the facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining all required certifications and safety documentation.
  • Oversee materials handling and shipping/receiving activities to support rental and manufacturing projects.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation related to work activities and shop operations.
  • Identify and communicate potential process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and workplace safety.
  • Provide hands-on leadership, guidance, and support to Fabricators and Welders to ensure quality workmanship and timely project completion.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support operational needs.
