About The Position

Join our growing precision sheet metal manufacturing team and play a key role in keeping production moving efficiently and effectively. Job Summary The Fabrication Supervisor is to lead and oversee the fabrication department at Advantage Manufacturing. The Fabrication Supervisor ensures quality, efficiency, and safety in all fabrication operations while managing a team of skilled operators, including spot welders, laser operators, deburr/grinders, assemblers, and bead blasters. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to meeting production schedules and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of fabrication experience in precision sheet metal manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of laser cutting, spot welding, deburring, grinding, and bead blasting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication symbols, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Proficient in the use of fabrication equipment, tools, and inspection instruments.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily activities of the fabrication team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance the team’s skills and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and prioritize fabrication tasks to meet production schedules and customer deadlines while identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including engineering, quality control, and supply chain, to ensure seamless production flow.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of fabrication supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure all fabricated components meet the required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections of fabrication operations and finished products, addressing defects or non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with quality control to identify and resolve any production issues.
  • Enforce compliance with safety protocols and procedures, including OSHA and company-specific regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness of workstations.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication symbols to guide operations and resolve technical challenges.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of fabrication equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Evaluate and recommend new fabrication techniques, equipment, or processes to improve efficiency and quality
