About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Fabrication Supervisor North of Las Vegas, NV. The Fabrication Supervisor will support the Range Support Services II (RSS II) contract to the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) and provide critical operational mission support as well as target management support for test, tactics development, and advanced training. The Fabrication Supervisor manages and supervises a staff of union employees in design and fabrication of target assets, elements, and/or materials in support of the operational range clearance and maintenance mission. Essential Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, design, development and overseeing of fabrication/manufacturing processes to create target assets per customer requests to meet training, test and/or mission requirements. Ensure contractor and customer requirements are met in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Design, develop and create fabrication processes for various materials ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. Work closely with other Target Operations Supervisors to plan and coordinate target maintenance requirements and ensure any requirements for fabricated target elements are completed to meet target maintenance schedules. Provide guidance and technical direction of RSS II Target Operations Union personnel on specific site or multiple sites of NTTR supporting contract operations: responsible for the quality and performance of work. Plans and supervises all fabrication activities. Supervise up to ten personnel conducting fabrication activities. Assist in development of required plans (e.g., health and safety plans). Perform job/task hazard analysis, develop safety plans and procedures to mitigate hazards and supervise the implementation of safety plans and procedures. Provide additional operational mission, test, and exercise support as required. Coordinates and supports all customer project requirements, and management of customer priorities. Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in mechanical or fabrication engineering.
  • Ten years of experience in metal fabrication planning, estimating and execution processes.
  • Graduate of an OSHA-compliant (29 CFR 1910.120(e)(4)) 8-hour Management and Supervisor Training course.
  • Must have completed a 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Training and earned a Department of Labor Construction Safety Course Completion Card.
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience working in procedurally, environmentally and safety compliant environment.
  • Possess ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued motor vehicle drivers’ license.
  • Position requires the ability to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • US citizenship is required to obtain US security clearance.
