About The Position
PES is seeking a Fabrication Shop Tacker to join their team. The role involves tack welding with stick and flux core, assisting with hydrotest piping systems, and operating overhead cranes. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling pipe spools, assisting welders and fitters, and performing daily inspections and minor maintenance on equipment. This position requires a strong commitment to safety awareness, work ethic, and technical skill.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of prior fabrication experience
- Knowledge of crane hand signals
- Selects the correct rigging as per weight and balance loads
- Experience using safe work habits
- Candidates will be required to pass a Written Rigger Assessment
- Candidates will be required to pass a Welding Certified Tacker test
Responsibilities
- Tack with stick and flux core, and assist with hydrotest piping systems.
- Operates overhead crane.
- Assume a safe position during lifting operations and be aware of the position of others
- Assemble pipe spools by bolt-up flange connections.
- Assist welders and fitters with the assembly of pipes and pipe fittings, and operate hand tools such as jacks, come-alongs, grinders, and drills.
- Stenciling and tagging
- Complete daily visual inspections and minor maintenance to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
- Lubricates machinery and equipment
- Splices and repairs cables and ropes
- Participate in daily JSEA planning discussion
- Proper PPE selection and usage
- Conduct behavior-based safety observations.
- Understands and uses Stop Work Authority
