About The Position
Danos is seeking a Fabrication Shop Helper to join their team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong safety awareness, a solid work ethic, technical skills, customer focus, open communication, and a commitment to implementing the company's vision and values. This role involves supporting various fabrication tasks in the yard.
Requirements
- 2 or more years of prior fabrication experience
- Knowledge of crane hand signals
- Ability to select correct rigging as per weight and balance loads
- Experience using safe work habits
- Must pass a Written Rigger Assessment
- Must pass a Welding Certified Tacker test
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with QC on scanning and data books.
- Operate overhead crane.
- Assume a safe position during lifting operations and be aware of the position of others.
- Assemble pipe spools by bolting up flange connections.
- Assist welders and fitters with assembly of pipe & pipe fittings and operate hand tools such as jacks, coma-longs, grinders, drills, etc.
- Perform stenciling and tagging.
- Complete daily visual inspections and minor maintenance to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
- Lubricate machinery and equipment.
- Splice and repair cables and ropes.
- Participate in daily JSEA planning discussions.
- Ensure proper PPE selection and usage.
- Conduct behavioral based safety observations.
- Understand and use Stop Work Authority.
