About The Position

The W37 Machine Shop manufactures prototypes and test apparatus hardware supporting Joint, Interservice and service-specific experiments, assessments and demonstrations. The Engineering Technician will support all aspects of the manufacturing process including design for manufacturability analysis and administrative record keeping.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a current SECRET Clearance is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing training or similar industrial experience.
  • Experience in: Setting up and operating both CNC and manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, laser etchers, waterjets and EDM machines, to produce high-quality prototype parts.
  • Fabricating, modifying, and assembling prototype components from a variety of materials, including metals (aluminum, steel, titanium) and plastics.
  • Performing in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure parts meet strict tolerance and quality standards.
  • Working directly with the engineering and design teams to provide feedback on part manufacturability, suggest design improvements, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
