About The Position

The Quality Inspector will verify correct wiring, components, and conduct inspections of switchboard bussing products and components, as required, per applicable test procedure and/or component literature with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards. Inspect switchboard bus bar product produced on all lines and processes, according to inspection work instructions and in accordance with applicable governmental requirements and drawings, to confirm proper function of switchboards and electrical components, identify any product non-conformances, and ensure it meets customer specification, safety and quality requirements. Document inspections made on applicable checklist. Verify bus bar connectors in all applicable processes like punching, bending and tapping. Verify that any revisions released to the production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated into the product, all documentation reflects the current revision, and previous revisions of documents are not used / discarded. (Process and Update paperwork accurately – DWG, programs, test reports, etc.) Document and communicate non-conformances, which are critical quality records, and verify required rework to aid problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Communicate design errors to appropriate front end personnel for correction, obtain revisions, and verify required rework. Serve as informal trainer for production associates, communicate well with other associates, and build positive relationships that support job objectives and teamwork. Providing assistance particularly for complex tasks and for product requirements that may not be precisely defined (i.e. barrier placement). You will troubleshoot, update, develop test setups and new procedures when current procedures are inaccurate. Perform in process inspections for all processes applicable to the Fabrication Area. Inspection and evaluation of returned parts to the Fabrication area. Perform First Article Inspection reports for bus bars products.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years manufacturing, production, or military experience OR a degree in a technical discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem solving skills.
  • Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
  • Usage of measuring devices like tape measures, calipers, micrometers.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
  • Intermediate knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of gauging and inspection techniques
  • Intermediate problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Fabrication processes experience like punching, bending and tapping.
  • PPAP knowledge or experience.
  • Assist on audits with internal or external customers (requirements criteria) to help insure quality and continuous improvement of products.
  • Product audit development, training others and backup
  • Intermediate understanding of problem-solving methods
  • Training and experience with quality assurance concepts, Error Proofing, Problem Solving, MSA’s, Capability Studies, PFMEA’s, Control Plans, ISO 9001, dimensional analysis, auditing and Supplier Quality Management.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, including front view, Wiring Diagrams, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.
