Buck Knives is hiring for Prep and Heat Treat roles in our Fabrication Department. Join a team dedicated to crafting world-class knives known for holding an edge and exceeding the highest standards of quality and performance. FABRICATION - PREP SUMMARY Prep is responsible for blade preparation before final assembly. The Prep Operator will complete mid and final prep operations using a series of different abrasive wheels, sanding belts, polishing compounds and fixtures to produce the desired blade finish for further processing or final assembly. FABRICATION - HEAT TREAT SUMMARY Heat treat is responsible for bringing knife and component blanks to the appropriate hardness for fabrication production. Using high-temp crucible type ovens, conveyor ovens, and freezers for flash quench, operators will complete annealing, hardening and tempering operations to achieve the correct hardness before components move to grinding operations. The ability to follow recipes and instructions meticulously is crucial to the efficacy of the heat treat and overall durability/quality of finished Buck knives. Operators must promote an efficient, productive team environment to meet productions goals and requirements while maintaining safety at all times.
