Heat Treat Operator
About The Position
Heat Treat Operators use furnaces and ovens to heat treat aluminum castings as part of the manufacturing process. The heat treat operator will be a team player, have great attention to detail, work effectively on a deadline or with minimal lead times and with an excess of initiative and drive to succeed. The heat treat operator will operate a fork truck, run and set up heat treat ovens and aging machines, be able to program machines using computer data entry and will work well on their own. The ability to be self-directed with minimal supervision is essential. Basic reasoning skills will be employed to determine importance of tasks. Great care to abide by safety processes and procedures is essential for successful completion of basic job tasks. Requirements
- High School Diploma, required.
- Must be proficient with computers.
- Must be fork truck certified.
Nice To Haves
- Previous manufacturing or foundry experience is preferred.
- Candidate with previous experience in heat treat operations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Place baskets of aluminum castings in heat treat oven.
- Drive fork truck.
- Understand manufacturing basics and processes.
- Load and unload castings from baskets and ovens, lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
- Navigate computer-based Quality database.
- Comfortable with computer data entry.
- Fill in on shop floor when needed.
