The hours for this position are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The Fabrication operator’s duties and responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following: Fabricates plastic rods, slabs, and sheets in accordance with Shop Orders. Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner Reads and interprets Shop Orders Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, chop saws, band saws, and planers Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machine Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production Possesses ability to track parts and jobs Utilizes and abides by all safety procedures Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions

Requirements

  • Operation of manual lathes, drill presses and other standard job shop machines
  • Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds and machining techniques
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Mechanical ability
  • Proper use of hand and power tools
  • Basic awareness of electricity and the risks attached
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those around him/her
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • At least two (2) year experience in a job shop atmosphere
  • Knowledge in the safe operation of the following equipment: horizontal lathes of all sizes, portable resurfacing machines and drill presses
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
