Requirements

High school diploma or GED
One to three months of experience or training in this area
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Write simple correspondence
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Proficiency in manufacturing equipment operation, online safety training, ERP system, and HRIS platform (Training provided)

Responsibilities

Set up, tend, and maintain fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, brakes, and punch presses
Read shop work orders to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
Understand bend allowances, thickness tolerances, and machine tonnage requirements
Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template
Perform minor daily and weekly machine maintenance tasks such as oiling machines, refilling fluids, checking filters, and general cleaning
Rivet and spot weld workpieces
Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, light duty jib cranes, and vacuum lifters
Foster a work environment that is enjoyable, prideful, and customer-focused
