Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months of experience or training in this area
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Write simple correspondence
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent, and interpret bar graphs
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Proficiency in manufacturing equipment operation, online safety training, ERP system, and HRIS platform (Training provided)

Responsibilities

  • Set up, tend, and maintain fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, brakes, and punch presses
  • Read shop work orders to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
  • Understand bend allowances, thickness tolerances, and machine tonnage requirements
  • Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template
  • Perform minor daily and weekly machine maintenance tasks such as oiling machines, refilling fluids, checking filters, and general cleaning
  • Rivet and spot weld workpieces
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, light duty jib cranes, and vacuum lifters
  • Foster a work environment that is enjoyable, prideful, and customer-focused
