About The Position

Ryan Herco Flow Solutions, a SunSource company, is a leading distributor of fluid control systems, fluid filtration systems, fluid handling products, micro-electronics, and general industrial supply. We sell to a broad base of customers in industries such as electronic component and equipment manufacturers, chemical manufacturers, water & waste treatment, metal finishing, pollution control and life sciences companies. The Fabrication Lead must be able to perform all levels of complexity of plastic fabrication production work, repairs, modifications, mechanical assembly, and actively participates in newer employee training. This role requires the ability to perform cross-functional activities related to plastic fabrication operations, including mechanical assembly, socket fusion, plumbing, quality control, testing, and process documentation. The employee may also be asked to perform certain in-field upgrades or repairs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a plastic manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Experience working with many different materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Experience in demonstrating proper plastic fabrication methodologies.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance customer expectations with company policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • High sense of integrity.
  • Respect and enforce the confidential aspects of their work.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Lathes, Milling Machines, Brakes, Presses, and woodshop equipment.
  • Plastic Fabrication and plumbing experience knowledge.
  • High School Diploma and College Degree or Trade School Certificate.
  • Carpentry skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of basic shop equipment such as table saws, drill presses, mills and lathes.
  • Optimize material layout for material savings.
  • Work unassisted in the completion of various fabrication projects.
  • Understanding of fabrication processes in order to utilize the most efficient means to complete a project.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of complexity of plastic fabrication production work, repairs, and modifications.
  • Perform mechanical assembly.
  • Actively participate in newer employee training.
  • Perform cross-functional activities as they relate to plastic fabrication operations, mechanical assembly, socket fusion, plumbing, quality control, test, and process documentation.
  • Perform certain in-field upgrades or repairs for the Customer Service Manager.
  • Perform PVC pipe gluing and cutting.
  • Complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Perform plastic and metal welding.
  • Perform creative problem solving.
  • Perform machine maintenance and cleaning, including changing blades and set up.
  • Support CNC operations.
  • Assist in material handling.
  • Assist in material preparation for fabrication.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
