About The Position

The Fabrication Helper assists the Fabrication Department with assembling packaged equipment. This role supports skilled fitters and welders with fabrication tasks while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience
Forklift experience required
Overhead crane experience required
Ability to tack/jack weld
Basic understanding of fabrication shop safety standards
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Experience using power tools and fabrication equipment
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
Physical stamina to lift and move heavy materials

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing or construction experience
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
Experience working in industrial shop environments
Strong teamwork and communication abilities

Responsibilities

Review work assignments to determine tools and materials needed
Assist Fitters, Welders, and Supervisors with fabrication operations
Prepare raw materials for fabrication including cleaning, measuring, and staging
Operate basic fabrication tools and machinery under supervision
Follow blueprints, schematics, and instructions to support accurate part assembly
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of tools and equipment
Assist with lifting, moving, and handling heavy materials and components
Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards
Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times
Properly use PPE and report any safety concerns immediately
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
Perform additional duties assigned
