About The Position

The primary role of the Fabrication Forklift Driver is to provide all required materials to the department before they are required. This position operates forklift equipment, ensuring safety standards are followed, and moves raw materials to fabrication machines. The driver is responsible for adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations regarding material movement, placing materials in designated areas, and verifying accuracy. Effective communication with supervisors, multi-tasking, and monitoring for material damage or discrepancies are key aspects of this role. Hoppers must be dumped after machines change their cut material. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid US Driver License.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Knowledge of inventory receiving, processing, and storage procedures.
  • Understanding of production line supply requirements and general production operations.
  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.
  • Must meet physical fitness standards necessary for frequent lifting, walking, and standing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless operations across departments.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work schedules, environments, and operational priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft office, preferred.
  • Training in forklift operation and safety certifications preferred.
  • Analytical problem solver with good communication skills.
  • Experience with Sheet Metal.
  • Hardware, Electronics, and shop tools a PLUS.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices to enhance operational efficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates forklift equipment as required, ensuring that safety standards are followed.
  • Moves raw materials to fabrication machines as assigned.
  • Conduct all materials movement procedures in accordance with established Company policies and procedures and safety regulations.
  • Place all materials in the designated area.
  • Ensure all material is verified accurate per request designated.
  • Communicate with Supervisors to ensure clear lines of communication.
  • Multi-task and prioritization in accordance with company daily schedule and requirements.
  • Monitor and report any material damage or discrepancies.
  • Hoppers are to be dumped after machines change their cut material.
  • Other duties as assigned.
