About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fabrication Designer 2 to support our prefabrication team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Manufacturing Designers to help prepare models, documentation, and create prefabrication parts using tools like Inventor. Your focus will be on assisting with design tasks that contribute to more efficient workflows and successful installations in the manufacturing facility. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in both electrical construction and manufacturing. You’ll learn how real-world construction needs are translated into buildable designs, while supporting collaboration between the shop, field, and VDC teams. The role involves creating custom components, assemblies, and prefabrication for electrical systems, optimizing designs for manufacturability and on-site installation efficiency, and understanding blueprints of structural framing and electrical systems. It also includes collaborating with project managers, electricians, and installers to gather design options, iterating on designs for ease of installation, maintenance, and safety, and supporting documentation and installation development. The designer will identify opportunities for product innovation, collaborate on testing new concepts, and implement design standards. Additionally, the role requires preparing bill of materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions, maintaining accurate design records, and ensuring compliance with NEC and industry standards.
