About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring for a Fabrication Associate, in Groveport, OH. As a Fabrication Associate, you will be responsible for moving loose or bundled pipe within the shop and yard. You will also be responsible for assembling pipe orders (single sticks or bundles) and maintaining organized work supplies. Following safety precautions for fabricating, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping pipe is crucial. You will operate powered industrial equipment by OSHA guidelines and procedures, and set up and maintain machines for pipe fabrication. Additionally, you will measure, record, and add random pipe lengths accurately, and measure and cut pipe using band saws or torches. Threading and beveling pipes using Landis machines, and inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

• Experience with machinery, band saws, automatic welding machines.
• Mechanical background.
• Experience using and understanding tape measures and use of Gauges for quality checks.
• Ability to sort/shift pipe ranging from ½” to 10”.
• Experience with reading and understanding work orders.
• Experience with machinery for cutting and threading pipes.
• Knowledge of good computer skills for automated machinery.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with auto mechanics, machinery maintenance, automotive lines, diesel, or farm equipment.
• Experience in fire sprinkler pipe fabrication.
