About The Position

This position is responsible for the forming, cutting, sharpening, piercing, welding, and/or the painting of fabricated materials for the use of a final product. The role involves performing moderately complex welding operations, utilizing a variety of welding equipment while ensuring all safety measures are used. The associate may be exposed to extreme temperatures and perform work in a confined area, and will be responsible for moving parts in and out of the welding area. Additionally, the position requires the ability to read and understand moderately complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and schematics. The Fabrication Associate I is responsible for their own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care. They will evaluate and perform basic troubleshooting, obtaining support from supervision and engineering as needed. The role may periodically provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups relative to product improvement. A key responsibility is to establish and maintain a safe and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements. Other tasks may be requested to assure the effective and continuous utilization of assets.

Requirements

  • Possess a welding certificate from an outside entity (i.e. technical school, college, welding program).
  • Must have actively welded in the last year.
  • Welds are subject to visual and integrity test prior to selected candidate being hired.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in area assigned to (Painting, Welding, Fabrication).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of basic shop math and measuring techniques.
  • Expertise with basic hand tools, air tools, gages and torque wrenches.
  • Excellent natural or corrected vision.
  • Requires ability to reach overhead, lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly, be on feet for long hours, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing.
  • Must be capable of working independently using initiative and problems solving skills.

  • Perform moderately complex welding operations.
  • Utilize a variety of welding equipment, ensuring all safety measures are used.
  • Move parts in and out of the Welding area.
  • Responsible for own product quality, proper measuring techniques, and tool use and care.
  • Evaluate and perform basic troubleshooting, and obtain support from supervision, and engineering as needed.
  • Periodically provide input to supervision, engineering, and quality groups relative to product improvement.
