About The Position

The Fabrication Apprentice will perform any duties associated with the Fabrication Shop process on an as-needed basis. This position will learn the basics of fabrication, welding, conduit installation/bending, pulling wire and painting. This career requires knowledge and basic understanding of small mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers, and man lifts, effective communication both written and verbal.

Requirements

Mechanical inclination and a basic understanding of small mobile equipment such as forklifts, skid-steers and man lifts.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Effective communication both written and verbal.
Ability to take direction, perform duties to the highest standards, and be able to meet the scheduling obligations as posted.

Nice To Haves

Previous welding, fabrication, electrical is a plus.
Experience using electrical or manual tools such as saws, squares, calipers, etc.

Responsibilities

Assist with the set-up and clean-up of all functions performed in the Fabrication Shop.
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
Uses hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment as necessary.
Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and wear.
Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
Other job duties as assigned.
