About The Position

NSC Staffing is hiring a Fabric Worker in Kittery, Maine. The role assists journeyman-level fabric workers with materials, tools, and fabrication tasks, including aligning materials to be sewn or cut and fabricating or repairing containments. The worker may be required to wear a safety harness and work from scaffolds or platforms where the drop-off is greater than 5 feet. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a Fabric Worker; the posting also states at least three (2) years of experience performing typical trade tasks.
Working knowledge of trade equipment, including mallets, hammers, pliers, tape measures, squares, and grommet sets.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and job orders.
Sufficient trade math knowledge to set up and lay out work.
Ability to tie trade knots and make rough sketches.
Qualified to wear safety harnesses and work from scaffolds or platforms where the drop-off is greater than 5 feet.
Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Handle materials and trade tools for journeyman-level fabric workers.
Clean work areas, run errands, and hold materials in position as directed by the mechanic.
Assist with aligning materials to be sewn, cut, or otherwise worked.
Use grommet machines, dielectric heat-sealers, and electric cutting knives to fabricate and repair containments.
Set up and lay out work, tie trade knots, and make rough sketches.
