About The Position

This is a mobile role covering the Dorchester/Salisbury areas. The Fabric Engineer will provide maintenance services to high profile Clients, going the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of performance. The role involves using initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support. The engineer will provide detailed write-ups of works carried out, carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring compliance with current regulations and contract specifications. Responsibilities include reporting and recording procedures, utilizing PDAs or electronic devices to complete works, and liaising closely with the Helpdesk for efficient response. A key aspect of the role is observing the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments. The engineer will deal with a variety of Clients daily, representing the Company with courtesy and professionalism, and will provide a call out response across all contracts.

Requirements

  • A customer-focused attitude with a practical problem solving approach.
  • Excellent communication skills as the first point of contact for our key client and engineers.
  • Well developed organisational skill with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast paced environment.
  • A collaborative approach to contribute to team success.
  • A relevant qualification in your trade to C&G or NVQ L2 or L3.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to reactive and remedial maintenance.
  • Demonstrate a general wide knowledge of building systems in relation to reactive tasks encompassing, fabric tasks including Carpentry, wet trade tasks, minor plumbing tasks, tiling and ground works.
  • Current Full UK Driver’s License.

  • Fire Compartmentation experience
  • IOSH – Working safely or CSCS Card
  • IT Skills – in the use of PDAs
  • Asbestos awareness training (UKATA)
  • CSR/CSCS H&S qualification

Responsibilities

  • Use own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Reporting and recording procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
  • Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise closely with our Helpdesk to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis, representing the Company and being courteous and professional in dealings.
  • Provide a call out response across all contracts.
