About The Position

Czarnowski is seeking individuals eager to learn or advance their construction and sewing skills for a Fabric Assistant position within their fabric production team. This role is crucial for completing fabrics for displays on strict timelines, involving measuring, cutting, sewing, and fitting fabrics to metal/wood frames. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure quality production and timely delivery of projects.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational techniques and a good work ethic.
  • Strong math skills include measuring to the closest 16th of an inch and adding, subtracting, and dividing fractions.
  • Comprehending construction methods of different fabric products
  • High school graduation is a prerequisite.
  • Ability to understand and execute basic instruction.
  • Ability to climb on tables from a step stool.
  • Ability to add and subtract measurement fractions.
  • Ability to measure and mark specific dimensions with a tape measure.
  • Ability to draw and cut a straight neat line in fabric with scissors or a rolling cutting blade.
  • Skill at sewing on an industrial single needle machine.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced fabric prepper
  • Industrial sewing experience or production sewing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating between Graphic Project Managers, Warehouse, Shop and Shipping departments to maintain timelines for all assigned jobs.
  • Production of specified items from raw materials to finished fitted displays.
  • Be aware of changes as a job progresses and properly execute orders as directed.
  • Maintain specified SOP and quality completion of every item.
  • Work closely with the Department Manager, Account Managers, Project Managers, and Shop Leads to ensure the successful completion of all assigned projects.
  • Accurately measuring, marking, cutting, sewing, fitting, and packaging all fabrics, as well as tracking job progress to meet timelines.
  • Operating within Czarnowski standard operating procedures.
