About The Position

The Fab Process Development Technician works in a cleanroom environment to process thin-film substrates in support of production and development schedules. This role is responsible for tracking products through the process cycle, setting up and operating specialized equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to established procedures. The technician applies photolithography techniques and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail to deliver high-quality products for customers. This position requires multitasking and oversight of multiple processes and equipment simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience.
  • Operative/Technician roles will typically operate more complex machinery/processes.
  • Ability to work for extended periods in a cleanroom environment while handling chemicals and wearing full protective gear (including cleanroom suit, safety goggles, gloves, and other PPE).
  • Ability to perform tasks at a microscope for prolonged periods, up to approximately 80% of a shift, depending on assigned workstation.
  • Ability to push and pull materials weighing up to 10–15 lbs.
  • Ability to routinely lift materials weighing up to 6 lbs.
  • Skills: Chemicals Handling, Communication, Data Evaluation, Mechanical Equipments, Microscope, Microsoft Office, Multitasking, Problem Solving, Process Improvements, Process Procedures, Safety Procedures, Semiconductor Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform metal etching, plating, and other substrate processing operations.
  • Conduct final inspections of substrates to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Execute all duties of Technician Levels 1 and 2 as needed.
  • Achieve subject matter expert status in at least one fabrication department and train other technicians as required.
  • Author and edit detailed process instructions and documentation.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate complex equipment according to specifications.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze statistical process control (SPC) data to monitor performance.
  • Follow complex system-driven commands and workflows accurately.
  • Safely handle chemicals, including solvents, while adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
