Heads Up Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail oriented FAA Repair Station Technician to join our team. In this role, you will test, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of avionics and cabin electronics systems, including LED lighting, switches, touchscreens, cabin monitors, moving map systems, passenger briefing units, streaming devices, and commercial aviation equipment. You will play a critical role in diagnosing and repairing avionics systems using approved instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings while ensuring all repairs meet FAA and company quality standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of electronics repair experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong hand eye coordination and manual dexterity for soldering and use of hand tools.
  • Experience with board level troubleshooting and electronic repair processes.
  • Proficiency in soldering, desoldering, and reading electrical schematics.
  • Experience using multimeters and electronic test equipment.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and diagnostic equipment used in electronics repair.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Self motivated, quick learner capable of working independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre employment and random quarterly drug testing.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in accordance with FAA requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or a related technical field.
  • Previous avionics, aerospace, or FAA repair station experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or repair environment.
  • IPC certification or equivalent electronics assembly and soldering certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform board level troubleshooting to identify and resolve electronic and avionics system issues.
  • Diagnose failures using approved repair station procedures, technical documentation, and schematics.
  • Utilize multimeters and test equipment to isolate faults and verify repairs.
  • Perform functional testing of repaired products to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
  • Execute repairs using hand tools, soldering equipment, and specialized repair station tools.
  • Apply soldering and desoldering techniques to repair electronic assemblies and components.
  • Ensure repaired units meet quality standards and customer requirements prior to shipment.
  • Record repair activities, test results, and parts usage accurately on associated paperwork and electronic systems.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA repair station procedures, company policies, and quality requirements.
  • Support traceability and documentation requirements for all repair activities.
  • Work effectively with co workers, engineering teams, and customers to resolve technical issues.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills while supporting team objectives.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Follow all FAA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to strict quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
