About The Position

GDIT is seeking an F5 Engineer to join their team supporting Government activities in Sterling, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on delivering Network Engineering Services, with responsibilities including traffic management, F5 Local Traffic Manager, F5 Global Traffic, and Tool Command Language (TcL). The engineer will manage configurations on physical and virtual F5 devices across multiple data centers, participate in developing and supporting customer technical requirements, and plan, design, develop, implement, and operate F5 products like LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, and APM. The position also involves providing technical documentation, proposing system enhancements, monitoring and troubleshooting platform and OS issues, performing launch testing, collaborating with other technology teams, applying capacity planning, and coordinating equipment orders and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly
  • Bachelor of Science Degree, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Must have the F5 201 certification or obtain the certification within 3 months of hire date
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
  • 7+ years of relevant F5 experience with F5 LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, and/or APM administration and life cycle management including experience with advanced iRule creation and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrates knowledge of a broad range of technology towers i.e.: Storage, Virtualization, Intel, Networking, Data Center Migration and Disaster Recovery
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems, switching, and routing protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and 802.1x.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large multi-site environment
  • Knowledge of risk and controls landscape, ensuring company-wide standards are met
  • US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

  • Manages the configuration on multiple physical and virtual F5 across multiple data centers

  • Collaborates with different technology towers to achieve common goals
  • Applies capacity planning configuration changes as needed
  • Addresses performance, scalability, and service architecture administration issues
  • Coordinates equipment orders including physical or virtual appliances, as well as upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing the systems as needed
