About The Position

The F135 Lighting Sustainment Center (LSC) Team is seeking an F135 LSC Project Specialist located in Dayton, OH. As part of the F135 Sustainment Organization, the Lightning Sustainment Center and Operations Center are responsible for 24/7 propulsion system support and integration across the entire F135 value stream. In this role, you will serve as the Project Specialist at the Lightning Sustainment Center where you will operate in direct collaboration across a vast cross-functional organization to include the F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO), international partners, and industry personnel. You will contribute to delivering enhanced global F135 sustainment capabilities across a broad Continental US (CONUS) and Outside CONUS (OCONUS) operating spectrum at both main operating bases, deployed land-based and/or maritime environments to refine the communication lines for supply and sustainment engineering to enable customers to more effectively plan and schedule maintenance operations to enhance overall fleet readiness. The F-35/F135 program continues to expand by approximately 100 aircraft annually, offering the individual in this role significant exposure to the sustainment of one of the world’s largest and most advanced military aviation programs. Individuals with a passion for delivering world-class customer service will thrive in this position. This role will report to the LSC SCM Lead. Travel requirement as needed.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, that demonstrates in-depth knowledge and commitment to continuous learning.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Customer support experience as well as MS Office Suite, specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • A U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced abilities in data analytics and MS Office Suite.
  • Data Engineers need strong SQL skills to manipulate and query data stored in relational databases, as well as to design and optimize database schemas.
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, fast-paced military HQ or operations center environment.
  • Possess excellent presentation skills with some experience briefing at the executive level (General/Flag Officer and Government/Industry equivalents).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning project scope, leading teams, managing resources, and ensuring timely project execution while maintaining stakeholder communication.
  • Develop and integrate data from various sources to create a unified and comprehensive project-focused data view.
  • Continuously assess and improve data quality, reliability, and consistency to ensure trustworthy data for analysis.
  • Participate in alignment meetings, providing data driven insights to support communication of fleet issues with both internal and external customers.
  • Support and lead team training events, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to a 24/7/365 operational environment, including shift flexibility, weekend/holiday support, and EH&S compliance.
