Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent the P&W Team at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ as a Field Service Engineer (FSE). This position is a customer facing role in a high visibility and part of a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, in an engineering or related technical field is preferred. Or, an associate’s degree, or 2-year post high school training and 9 years of engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support. This includes supply chain management and Support Equipment management in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support. This includes supply chain management and Support Equipment management.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience on the F135 engine and associated programs to include Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)/OBPHM.
  • Knowledge of turbine engine theory and operation.
  • Familiarity of USMC aviation operations/structure.

Responsibilities

  • Support F-35B/F135 operations to include systems, tooling, material, and processes.
  • The FSE will have hands-on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and unit personnel.
  • Ensure comprehensive reporting on support activities including aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption.
  • Work closely with internal P&W teams (Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Center, ALIS teams to assist Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron (VMFA)-122, Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron, Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron (VMFA)-211, Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron (VMFA)-214, Marine Fighter-Attack Squadron (VMFA)-225, Marine Test & Evaluation Squadron - 1 and Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS)-13 Supply Department in troubleshooting and resolution of emerging customer issues and maintain flexibility to resolve constantly changing customer priorities.
  • Use self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P&W, the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, and Lockheed Martin.
  • The FSE will be responsible for coordinating field issues with the local P&W team, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management.
  • Align with Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participating in Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) initiatives.
  • Ability to travel to contested areas for extended periods of time to support customer deployments, domestic and international travel, as well as shipboard operations are required and part of the team concept.
  • Must have the ability to rotate first and second shift schedules as required to meet customer support and team objectives.
