Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations is seeking an Engine Technician to support both the F-35 Final Assembly & Checkout (FACO) and Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul & Upgrade (MROU) operations in Fort Worth, Texas. The role involves performing the necessary work to meet engine production requirements and ensure quality standards for the overhaul and repair of F-135 engines or modules and associated technologies. This position is for the 2nd shift, but the individual must be flexible to work alternate shifts, overtime, or weekends, and be able to travel to customer/partner locations (40-50% travel). The role requires strong communication skills and self-motivation. Work will be performed on engines installed in the F-35 Aircraft as well as uninstalled engines in a shop environment. The technician will complete work priorities and assigned day-to-day tasks necessary to build, repair, and inspect Pratt and Whitney F135 gas turbine engines. This includes understanding maintenance information from team leaders, coordinating with Technical Leads, Immediate Supervisor, and Site Manager, and interfacing with various other functions such as Quality, Local FSE's, BEM's, Customers, DCMA, JPO, and LM to resolve issues and ensure timely product delivery. The role also involves working with Field Service Engineering to improve methods and processes for building engines and repairing hardware. Good interpersonal skills are essential for dealing with customers and others in a diverse work environment. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, self-governing, and accurate in their work, with a strong understanding of gas turbine engines. Physical requirements include working with maintenance platforms, ascending/descending maintenance stands, lifting 25 pounds to a height of 4 feet, and positioning oneself to perform maintenance/inspections underneath engine rails and inside the exhaust duct.
