About The Position

As an F130 Development Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support to a multi-functional integrated product team (IPT), applying a systems engineering approach to create new systems or modify existing ones. The Development Engineer will define, plan, monitor, control and deliver managed change (including new solutions) to meet all agreed stakeholder requirements in addition to planning and delivering verification programs to ensure that Rolls-Royce's products meet business, customer and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 2 + year of experience in Validation & Verification in Engineering and Project Management Experience; OR Master’s Degree in Engineering; OR JD/PhD in engineering
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates, manage project control accounts, and support development engine/sub-system build and test activities.
  • Plan, manage, and develop engine/sub-system certification/qualification plans.
  • Participate in product introduction gated reviews.
  • Allocate requirements to major sub-systems.
  • Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and timescale) are identified, managed (including integration of risk activities in project plan), and escalated in accordance with risk management plan.
  • Understand experiment/test requirements and turn them into test schedules and subsequently test instructions.
  • Manage manufacturing or engineering subcontracts for design-make components.
  • Coordinate experiments (rig, engine and/or flight testing) including instrumentation and data analysis requirements.
  • Define the necessary resource to achieve stakeholder requirements, and negotiate with resource managers, in conjunction with Work Package Manager (WPO) and Sub-System Manager (SSM), and Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) to balance load and capacity across the IPT.
