The USAF Materials Manager is responsible for all aspects of material management activities to support the US Air Force (USAF) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) customer to ensure that both material and contractual requirements are met in support of both the customer and F100 fleet of engines. The USAF fleet is comprised of over 1500 active F100-PW-220 and F100-PW-229 engines. You will be the primary materials interface for our important USAF and DLA customers and will lead a group of materials analysts to ensure customer orders are completed on time, and properly status and communicated. The key function in this role is to support the USAF spare part sales through various contracts, material management, SAP, forecasting and reporting activities, and wide area workflow flowback verification. Strong analytical skills, ability to learn new systems quickly, capability to prioritize daily tasks, and ability to work closely with your team under pressure on multiple projects are all critical to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 8 years of aerospace, operations, product or program management, general, and or maintenance experience or
  • An advance degree with 5 years aerospace, operations, product or program management, general, and/or maintenance experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Previous SAP and customer service experience desired.
  • Material Management background as well as experience with forecasting, schedule alignment and capacity planning
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills
  • Program or Customer Management background/experience
  • Excel skills are a necessity; Access skills and familiarity with ODM are desirable
  • Proven organizational and project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Meet our customer requirements and plan for future needs.
  • Accountable for enabling the F100 program to meet spare parts financial commitments
  • Interface with internal and external organizations and customers to communicate and prepare for successful material alignment, strategic material sourcing, material expedite, and compliant shipment
  • High level understanding of customers’ critical pacing material, Pratt & Whitney supplier capacity constraints and some experience and background working closely with operations
  • Data Analysis – Strong ability to not only collect data but to be use this to develop plans and or solutions to complex problems and ability to then present this data to the associated organizations in a clear and concise manner
  • Co-manage and optimize the supplier-initiated order (SIO) program under the USAF Pacer Talon Contract .
  • Manage USAF critical parts to meet or exceed depot and field requirements while managing inventory.
  • Challenge target to actual forecast consumption; trending of maintenance scrap rates, audit system generated recommendations and potential forecast changes
  • Reporting element that includes, a suite of Business Units reports, both routine and ad-hoc
