About The Position

The Freeze and Chill Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the Frozen and Chill (F&C) Department within the store. The role includes F&C staff management, product ordering, inventory maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2-5 years experience.
  • Must be able to uphold our company’s mission statement.
  • Work flexible work schedule.
  • Ability to effectively lead, train, and motivate a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google docs.
  • Ability to problem solve issues, prioritize efficiently, and implement effective solutions quickly with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Capability to lift heavy items and work in cold environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and customer feedback to forecast for future orders.
  • Willingness to adjust to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges.
  • Adhere to all local and federal safety and environmental codes, ordinances, standards and laws; adhere to all Pay-Less Markets and local safety plans, policies, practices and standards; be aware of and follow all safety rules of your work site; report any unsafe conditions or accidents to your supervisor and participate in mandatory or available safety training.
  • The employee should have the physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for long periods.
  • The employee must be comfortable working in a cold environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and respond to customers and employees.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train team members in daily tasks and safety procedures.
  • Schedule shifts and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Works with Store Manager to provide feedback with their team’s performance evaluations
  • Demonstrates product knowledge, understands movement, the supply chain, and orders efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of products.
  • Prepares and conducts physical inventory
  • Manage product rotation, conduct vendor claims, and controls markdowns/damages in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Receives and verifies merchandise if receiver is unavailable
  • Assist customers with inquiries and provide product recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the frozen and dairy sections.
  • Train staff on proper handling, dating standards, and storage of products.
  • Examines equipment to ensure it is working properly
  • Implement sales strategies to highlight department promotions to increase sales.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Understands the departments Fiscal Year budget and strives to meet those numbers and/or works with management to communicate potential barriers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
