About The Position

Boeing Aerospace Operations is searching for a F/A-18 Tool Room Coordinator located at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. The role involves assessing manufacturing requirements, coordinating with support organizations, and managing procurement specifications. The coordinator will also provide guidance to suppliers, research new technology, and gather information to recommend solutions for manufacturing requirements. Responsibilities include investigating changes in requirements, analyzing and overseeing procurement processes for tool services, and exploring options to resolve budget and schedule impacts. The position also supports the evaluation of outside supplier performance and compliance, and participates in the development and management of budgets for tool acquisition and inventory. Additionally, the role involves reviewing on-hand inventory, coordinating redistribution, and planning for the removal of obsolete inventory. Support of other site functions as business needs require is also expected. The role operates under limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Experience with Material Management and Inventory Control
  • Experience managing test assets and/or calibrated equipment
  • Experience with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to lift 35 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Aircraft MRO or production experience
  • Experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Experience in TCMAX and/or processes related to managing Tool Cribs and systems analysis

Responsibilities

  • Assesses manufacturing requirements and verifies customer requests.
  • Coordinates with support organizations to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Works with contract administrators to develop and maintain procurement specifications and standards.
  • Provides guidance and improvement suggestions to outside suppliers and other analysts.
  • Participates in the analysis and research of new technology to provide state of the art cost-effective products.
  • Gathers manufacturing and product information to develop and recommend solutions to manufacturing requirements.
  • Investigates changes in manufacturing requirements and support emergent requests.
  • Analyzes, procures and oversees procurement processes for manufacturing tool services products and services.
  • Explores all possible options to resolve potential impacts to budget and manufacturing schedules.
  • Supports the evaluation of outside supplier performance and verification of compliance with procedures and contract specifications.
  • Participates in the development and management of overhead and capital budgets for the acquisition and inventory of tool services products.
  • Reviews on-hand inventory and coordinates re-distribution.
  • Participates in the plans for the removal of obsolete inventory.
  • Support of other site functions as business needs require.
