About The Position

This position is for the Sustainment Avionics, F-16 Technician Level 3, First Shift for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Sustainment Team. The team is responsible for Flight test/Depot functions including the installation of electrical harnesses/wires, continuity testing, system testing, and soldering/termination operations. As a Level 3 Technician, you will be responsible for Flight test Mods, testing/installing electrical harnesses/components, routing various wire/cables, terminating cables/wires, and performing operational checks to ensure flight readiness. You may also be required to troubleshoot and repair electrical and avionics systems. Additionally, you may perform general mechanic installs, testing, and inspections. The role requires the ability to comprehend safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Specific physical requirements include using hands to grasp, handle, feel, and reach; talking and hearing; frequently standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, twisting, and working on or in the aircraft. The job involves frequently lifting and/or pushing or pulling up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, performing repetitive movements, and working overhead. Maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area and properly handling hazardous materials are essential. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed and may be exposed to vibration. This position requires a government security clearance and US citizenship.

Requirements

  • 8 years of Fighter Aircraft Avionics or other heavy depot aircraft avionics experience
  • Modification Wire Routing, testing, and Installation Experience
  • Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and work overhead
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area
  • Ability to properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration
  • Requires a government security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • F-16 Fighter Aircraft Experience Preferred
  • Aircraft modification installation experience including wire harness installation and check out procedures
  • Ability to interpret installation drawings, install and route electrical cable assemblies, perform multiple termination processes and perform continuity checks in accordance with standard processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes
  • Ability to identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Willing to be trained and/or certified in special skills
