About The Position

ROKA is seeking a focused, detail-oriented, and reliable Eyewear Inspection Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and validating prescription eyewear to ensure compliance with optical specifications, cosmetic quality standards, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, experience working in a quality-focused manufacturing environment, and the ability to maintain accuracy while meeting production deadlines.

Requirements

  • Experience using inspection and measurement equipment to verify product quality and conformance
  • Ability to accurately interpret work orders, prescriptions, and manufacturing specifications
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify cosmetic and optical defects
  • Strong visual acuity and the ability to distinguish minor defects in lenses and frames
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while working in a fast-paced production environment
  • Basic computer proficiency for production tracking, data entry, and quality documentation
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
  • Experience inspecting prescription eyewear or ophthalmic lenses
  • Experience using manual and automated lensometers
  • Knowledge of lens verification, prism measurement, PD verification, and frame alignment standards
  • Familiarity with ANSI optical standards and quality inspection practices
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or quality-controlled environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection and verification of prescription eyewear to ensure compliance with ROKA quality standards and customer specifications
  • Verify lens power, axis, prism, pupillary distance (PD), segment height, and other prescription parameters using optical inspection equipment
  • Conduct cosmetic inspections of lenses and frames to identify scratches, chips, coating defects, mounting issues, and assembly discrepancies
  • Validate frame and lens combinations against production orders to ensure product accuracy
  • Operate manual and automated inspection equipment, including lensometers and other optical measurement devices
  • Assemble prescription and plano eyewear accurately according to work order specifications, ensuring proper lens mounting, frame alignment, and overall product quality
  • Identify report non-conforming products while supporting corrective action efforts
  • Maintain inspection throughput targets while ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality concerns and improve process performance
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality control protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve efficiency
  • Support production schedules and departmental priorities to ensure on-time delivery commitments
