About The Position

To coordinate, control and lead the execution of production processes. Maintains the highest level of accuracy. Maintains Darnel safety & quality standards in all aspects of job performance.

Requirements

  • Previous Extrusion experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Can read, write, and has a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and be able to perform simple math.
  • Knowledge and ability to modify Excel and Word documents.
  • Must be able to read and use measurement instruments.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or fill in for the shift supervisor during absences and morning meetings.
  • Monitor department operations and manufacturing processes to meet annual KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Provide feedback when KPI’s are not met with specific goals to reach KPI targets (attainment, scrap, etc.). Review the daily production plan to ensure targets are met. Provide detailed information related to downtime and assist with development and execution of actions plans to improve results.
  • Perform analyses to identify root cause problems. Work with Supervisor to identify actions plans to eliminate process inefficiencies.
  • Ensure proper machinery and materials set-up and shift information is adequately communicated to the next shift. Monitor line settings and react quickly to any process changes to avoid major disruptions.
  • Provide feedback and may make recommendations to the supervisor regarding operator performance. Attend daily meeting to review daily issues and create plans to avoid future problems.
  • Update manuals, production profiles and operation procedures and suggest changes to management. Train personnel to ensure production operations run as safely, efficiently and effectively as possible. Validate training methods and make recommendations for improvement to training process, checklists and testing.
  • Document and/or communicate shift issues or events to his/her supervisor. Assist the supervisor in reviewing the accuracy and completeness of the shift’s quality control paperwork, production tracking and computer data entry.
  • Report and communicate any machinery problems, repairs or PMs to the maintenance department and assist in machine repairs as required. Coordinate PM with maintenance manager. Utilize the Work Order process to accurately capture noted repairs.
  • Enter production data into PeopleSoft system and run reports as needed. Generate labels for the area. Ensure all production supplies, including boxes, bags, labels, box tape, etc., are readily available for use.
  • Lead new products and trials.
  • Maintain good housekeeping on equipment, floors, trash cans and waste according to standard guidelines and requirements.
  • Perform any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.
