About The Position

This role focuses on supporting the extrusion press operations, ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation, and meeting customer quality and delivery requirements. The position involves actively participating in the company's vision and strategies, prioritizing safety, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. Key responsibilities include setting up and running equipment, fulfilling customer orders accurately, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to recognize safety concerns
• Knowledgeable in company wide computer systems and programs
• Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated work area
• A highly motivated self-starter
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
• Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts according to customer specifications
• Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools
• Knowledge of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material
• Teamwork
• Ability to take part in additional training i.e. Extrusion 101

Responsibilities

• Exhibit active leadership to model and support the company's vision and strategies.
• Ensure safety is the number one priority and promote a safe work environment.
• Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements.
• Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders, including reviewing manufacturing orders, ensuring quality practices, performing inspections, checking hardness and temper, packaging orders, and loading trailers.
• Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction.
• Monitor and make correct process changes for packing product or changing rates.
• Provide suggestions and continuous improvement ideas.
• Distribute baskets to and from extrusion press lines.
• Provide extrusion press support if needed.
• Keep work area clean and orderly using the 5S system.
• Continually support and improve the department's key measures.
