Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, with seven plant locations across the United States, Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer offering a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS, and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential, commercial plumbing systems, and industrial applications. The Extrusion Satellite Plant Manager is responsible for the management and performance of one of their Satellite Plant locations, specifically the Maize, KS facility. This extrusion operation produces PVC pipe in various sizes and configurations. The Manager oversees all aspects of this 24/7 high production volume environment, including safety, quality, production management, personnel management, technical solutions, materials management, reporting, and training.

Requirements

  • Strategic mind set with proven leadership abilities
  • B.S. or B.A. Degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years extrusion experience with production supervisory experience
  • Strong commitment to all aspects of safety
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple shifts and manufacturing personnel
  • Strong history of meeting production goals
  • Strong technical ability; Must possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience mentoring and coaching supervisors and associates

Responsibilities

  • Leading a 24/7 operation requires a commitment to be accessible at all times
  • Coordinate daily activities in the facility
  • Make decisions working with peers in procurement, maintaining spare parts, proper raw material inventory
  • Always providing a safe work environment
  • Knowledge and operation of all plant equipment
  • Partner with the scheduling group to produce the correct material
  • Manage shipping
  • Manage mixing
  • Manage office admin
  • Manage all third-party inspections and maintain company quality standards
  • Manage a maintenance department/crew
  • Manage Human Resources aspects: payroll, insurance, fair enforcement of rules, etc.
