Requirements

  • Ability to work a 12-hour shift beginning either 7AM or 7PM.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to be a team player and interact with colleagues.
  • Ability to handle tread rolls 40 – 140 pounds repeatedly.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up the extruder line.
  • Calculate the scale factor for the SKU to be run.
  • Change the extruder width if needed.
  • Monitor the width and scale weight closely.
  • Monitor slab, feed band and rework rolls being fed into the hopper. Record mix information into the “Extruder in program” each time a new pallet is started.
  • Perform checks called out on measurements in the Extruder data Collection program at start up.
  • Check the extrusion temperature as soon as rubber exits extruder.
  • Operate the extruder to quality extrusions of the scheduled size and type.
  • Sample and measure precure as required.
  • Weigh, label and palletize precure as required.
  • Maintain high state of cleanliness in the dip tank and roll-up areas of the extrusion line.
  • Assist in maintaining the dip solutions whenever required.
  • Load Rework rolls onto the rework bar using a hoist.
  • Load rolls so the extrusion end pulls off from top of the roll into the extruder.
  • Pull prep roll up to the hopper and feed the roll into the hopper until the screw starts pulling the roll into the extruder.
