About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the hopper area, ensuring extruders are loading the correct materials as specified in work orders. The operator will reclaim and grind materials from production start-ups and off-spec production for reuse, collaborating with other operators to determine appropriate regrind percentages and availability. Successful completion of OSHA-approved forklift certification and adherence to all safety guidelines for forklift operation are required. The role involves using software tools such as MII, SAP, and Access to accurately document and track material usage and production activities. Additionally, the operator will perform routine cleaning and maintenance of grinders, correctly identify materials to be ground, and accurately label and store ground materials for future use. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment by regularly cleaning equipment, extruders, storage areas, and warehouse aisles is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
Ability to read and interpret fractions; proficient in using a tape measure.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, with the ability to learn other software as needed.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, squatting, lifting, walking, and bending.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required.
Experience operating a forklift is beneficial, but training may be provided.
