About The Position

Engineered Profiles is a mid-sized, privately owned company seeking mechanically inclined individuals to train as Plastic Extrusion Operators. Through training and performance, skilled operators can earn up to $33 per hour. The starting pay is based on experience, assessed via a test. The company operates 24/7 on a two-week rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts. The Extrusion Operator role involves setting up, operating, tearing down extrusion lines, performing quality checks, and reporting production data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to use a tape measure, length gauge, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and various quality gauges.
  • Must have good mechanical aptitude and acceptable math skills (i.e., division, multiplication, fraction to decimal conversion, etc.).
  • Must possess basic knowledge of raw materials (virgin, regrinds, colorants, etc.) used in extrusion process.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and time-sensitive work that can change rapidly.
  • Must be able to work while standing for long periods.
  • Be able to lift and move heavy (70 lbs.) equipment and supplies.
  • Able to work all shifts as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Some manufacturing and/or technical experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment (dies, screws, downline equipment, etc.) to make line production capable.
  • Start up all machinery and equipment while making necessary adjustments to obtain a high-quality extruded product.
  • Assume responsibility for safety and housekeeping by following all safety rules, reporting safety hazards, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Assume responsibility for the quality of extruded products by completing check sheets, color checks, SPC computer data entry, and any other special reports.
  • Assume responsibility for packaging quality by ensuring required packing materials are available and products are packed correctly.
  • Assist in the training of new trainees by sharing knowledge and information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
