About The Position

The Surprise, AZ location of SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC is currently looking to add two Extrusion Operator Technicians to our team. The Extrusion Operator Technician will conduct preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repair of the components used in Extrusion. Works in extrusion as an operator and in charge of extrusion preventative maintenance and basic mechanical repair of the components used in Extrusion. Responsible for the preventative maintenance of all equipment used in extrusion assigned to the shift. Expected to trouble shoot mechanical problems on the extrusion equipment and perform basic repair and seek help in major repairs that is identified as required. Equipment included, but not limited to: material handling system, pelletizer, all components of the extrusion line, silos, rail car unloading system, chilled water system, compressed air and components, stacker. Organize and lead tooling changes, PM cleaning, and maintenance of tooling. Maintains safe, clean, and organized work environment. Obeys and conforms to all safety rules and regulations, always being aware of surroundings (foot traffic, product, other forklift, ect.), Follow lock out-tag-out safety and all personal protective equipment required for the job including gloves, heat protection sleeves, safety harnesses, hard hats, and other items as required. Works with the company software and programs to initiate work orders and close orders as they are completed, fill out shift reports and communicate with maintenance and the shift lead on work orders. Uses forklift to move items as required. Counts finished goods inventory and helps in other ways to keep the flow of product going efficiently, when required. Helps to initiate, recommend improvements, and provide solutions to repetitive mechanical breakdowns to leadership and co-workers, and help the implementation of solutions. Maintains current forklift operators’ certification card. Performs other job-related duties as required. Obeys and conforms to all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook. Attends ongoing training and education classes as assigned. Ensures a clean and organized work area. Possesses the math skills to calculate numbers as required to satisfy order requirements. Possesses the ability to recognize nonconforming tags and procedures. Possesses the ability to work and communicate well with co-workers. Must agree to and wear approved safety PPE.

Requirements

  • Ability to be trained or have experience to operate hollow form extrusion equipment
  • Ability to be trained or have experience in mechanical adjustment and repair in job related activities
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English well.
  • Ability to be trained, as well as take, and follow directions.
  • Possess and/or will obtain (through training) certification in forklift operation.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to read, understand and follow schedules.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, where applicable for position.
  • Must be able to sit, walk, squat, climb, reach, turn, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout a 10–12-hour shift.
  • Ability to withstand dusty, hot, and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to operate a forklift in all weather conditions and situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a valid State Driver’s License.
  • Possesses knowledge or will learn the Quality Management System.
  • Experience operating a forklift and attachments.
  • Experience with uneven/difficult forklift operation.

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Work week is either 3/4 days or 7 days every 14 calendar days, you will have 50% of your days off.
  • Typically, you earn 74 ½ hours of regular pay plus 6 hours overtime every 2-week rotation.
