About The Position

The Third Shift Extrusion Line Tender is responsible for supporting the extrusion process by managing raw materials, monitoring downstream equipment, packaging finished products, and performing quality checks. This role requires attention to detail, basic math and measurement skills, and a commitment to safety and workplace organization. The position operates on the third shift, from 11pm to 7:30am.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read and follow written work instructions and labels.
Basic math skills (counting, weighing, simple measurements).
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by production needs.

Responsibilities

Load raw material into hoppers and manage regrind as directed by the Operator.
Monitor and tend downstream equipment (pullers, laser counters, winders, or hand spooling stations).
Package finished tubing (spooling, boxing, labeling) according to order requirements.
Perform visual inspections of product for surface defects, print quality, and packaging integrity.
Perform dimensional checks (OD/ID/wall) using micrometers and calipers.
Record production counts, scrap, and basic quality data accurately.
Keep the work area clean and organized following 5S principles.
Assist with material movement, empty gaylords, and scrap removal.
Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements.
Communicate issues or quality concerns immediately to the Operator or Supervisor.
Support changeovers and line clean-ups as needed.
Grind bad tubing in the regrind area in free time to be recycled back into the lines.
