About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position in the Extrusion department. The role involves working closely with a Lead Technician Trainer to learn and understand the extrusion process. Responsibilities include peeling and grinding returns, learning to operate Quality Assurance equipment, understanding and following schedules and product specifications, and adhering to all safety rules and regulations. The trainee will also learn how their job impacts the Quality management system. The position requires a high school education, excellent attendance, a good mechanical aptitude, and leadership qualities. The work environment is a plant with exposure to excessive heat and noise, and the pace is fast-paced, requiring a self-starter attitude. Overtime may be necessary.

Requirements

• Must possess math skills for working with and converting fractions and decimals, and for multiplying and dividing.
• Must have excellent attendance and work records.
• Must have mastered the roll of Extrusion Technician or have similar experience from previous places of employment.
• Must have a good mechanical aptitude – hydraulics, mechanics, equipment operations.
• Must possess a sound composure.

• Must have leadership qualities.
• High school education preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary or required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Lead Technician Trainer for learning and understanding of the extrusion process.
• Peel and grind returns.
• Learn to operate all Quality Assurance equipment and understand the purpose and function of each device.
• Learn to read and understand the schedule and the narratives it contains to ensure a quality product is produced that meets customer expectations.
• Learn to follow and understand product specifications.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations set forth by Plaskolite.
• Complete all projects and duties as assigned.
• Understand how your job impacts the Quality management system.
