IND123 Job Summary: You will represent the department in establishing objectives and long‑range goals and ensure the department follows organizational policies and procedures and cooperates with other departments as required in the achievement of organizational goals. This position will lead supervisors and team members through established processes to safely produce quality extrusions at the lowest cost by problem‑solving to eliminate waste and support continued growth. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Extrusion experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team and independently with all levels of the workforce.
  • Robust working knowledge of Extrusion Presses and Die Practices.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Good decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the optimal performance of the Extrusion Department. This includes monitoring: Productivity (lbs. per shift). Department staffing and labor costs Recovery and scrap reduction Extrusion run failures Performance and maintenance of production equipment Staff performance.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager and Extrusion Supervisor on strategic improvement plans.
  • Oversee planning and scheduling of department personnel to meet production requirements.
  • Ensures Health and Safety objectives are followed.
  • Lead and promote a team-oriented environment.
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction through defect-free products and on-time delivery based on production schedules and demand.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in assigned work areas as directed by departmental leadership.
