The Extrusion Assistant is responsible for ensuring all job duties are conducted in a safe and professional manner at all times. This role reports directly to the Production Supervisor or a more experienced Operator (Extrusion) and is directly responsible for the safety, quality, output, and housekeeping of their assigned lines. This position requires skill progression and testing. Duties include assisting with line setup, start-up, scrap-control, quality checks, new hire training, packing out the finished product, and any other duties set forth by the Shift Supervisor. The Assistant must complete all required paperwork and immediately inform the supervisor of any maintenance, quality, resin, housekeeping, safety, or production issues. The employee will be expected to fill in for the Operator in their absence, based on their development and overall experience level. The role also involves verbally communicating with co-workers on problems and activities, adhering to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines, visually inspecting the work environment for hazards, equipment safeguards, employees’ safety, and adherence to policies, and maintaining compliance with OSHA, company, and housekeeping rules.
