About The Position

The Temp Machine Operator General Associate will set up and run the Extruder Machine. This role involves monitoring the machine's display board, which shows meters, gauges, and alerts. The associate must have a working knowledge of computer operations. The position requires continuous operation, with the associate monitoring the machine alone and moving to the next task upon completion of the current one. Any maintenance required will not be performed by the associate; leadership must be notified. The role also includes general responsibilities such as proper dress, housekeeping, fire detection, and observing safety rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Must have some computer knowledge.
  • Be able to work alone.
  • Must wear leather gloves, safety glasses, a face shield, and sleeves when performing the task of replacing the Piston Screen due to extreme heat.
  • Must be familiar with the alerts shown on the machine's display board.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run the Extruder Machine.
  • Check tools and equipment prior to starting the process.
  • Set up the work area, including a combo set up underneath the chute, ensuring water is in the machine.
  • Replace blades and Piston Screens.
  • Monitor the display board on the machine throughout the shift, understanding all meters, gauges, and alerts.
  • Bring a pallet with product to the machine and place it in the dumper.
  • Tilt the product onto the conveyor belt and monitor the feeding process.
  • Check the quality of the product; stop the process and notify leadership if there is a discrepancy.
  • Clean the machine during and after the shift.
  • Replace the Piston Screen every 3 hours while the machine is running, which involves opening the piston cover, removing excess product, detaching the screen, installing a new screen, and closing the piston.
  • Replace the blades on the pin wheel, which involves opening the blade access cover, removing the pin wheel, replacing the blades at a workstation, and reinstalling the pin wheel.
  • Monitor the machine alone and continuously move to the next task.
  • Notify leadership for any needed maintenance.
  • Maintain proper dress.
  • Perform housekeeping duties.
  • Be aware of fire detection and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
