Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or a related field.
Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Illinois.
Current and maintained CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Availability to work evenings and weekends based on club sports schedules.
Must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date if an out-of-state candidate.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must undergo pre-employment screening including a criminal background check and potentially other checks.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
Experience working with high-contact or collegiate-level athletes.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site injury management and emergency care during practices, games, and tournaments.
Develop and implement injury prevention strategies and educate athletes on best practices for injury avoidance.
Guide injured athletes through the rehabilitation process, ensuring they follow safe and effective treatment protocols for a speedy recovery.
Oversee return-to-play plans for injured athletes.
Conduct injury screenings and educate athletes on proper warm-up techniques, conditioning, and recovery strategies.
Serve as a resource for injury-related questions and advice.
Ensure the overall well-being of athletes by following established safety protocols and guidelines during all athletic events and practices.
