About The Position

CaRMS is seeking an experienced relationship builder who thrives on connecting with partners, understanding their evolving needs, and translating those insights into opportunities that strengthen collaboration and inform organizational priorities. This role serves as the primary relationship manager for many of CaRMS' external partners and stakeholders. Success in this role comes from building trust, facilitating meaningful conversations, identifying emerging trends, and ensuring partner perspectives are represented across the organization. Working closely with Product, Delivery, and Leadership, the successful candidate will bring external insights into internal discussions while fostering long-term partnerships that support CaRMS' strategic objectives. This is a full-time, permanent, fully remote position. The successful candidate must be based in Canada and have the ability and willingness to travel as required. The language requirement for this role is bilingual (English and French). Occasional overtime may be required to meet critical deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, economics, public administration, communications or a related discipline.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in external relations, stakeholder engagement, partnership management, membership engagement, account management, client relationship management, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a not-for-profit, association, healthcare, post-secondary, government, or other complex stakeholder-driven environment.
  • Experience in medical education, preferably within a faculty of medicine, medical school, residency program, or related environment of the CaRMS match process and medical education landscape.
  • Experience facilitating discussions, gathering stakeholder insights, and translating feedback into actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency with digital collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Asana, etc.).
  • Bilingual (English/French).

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with partner organizations, faculties of medicine, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external partners, fostering collaboration and open communication.
  • Lead stakeholder meetings to understand partner priorities, challenges, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent CaRMS at external meetings, conferences, committees, and working groups.
  • Strengthen relationships through regular engagement and proactive communication.
  • Gather feedback from partners through discussions, meetings, and sector engagement.
  • Identify recurring themes, emerging issues, and opportunities across the medical education landscape.
  • Translate stakeholder insights into clear recommendations for internal teams.
  • Prepare briefing materials and reports that support strategic planning and organizational decision-making.
  • Work closely with Product, Delivery, and Leadership to ensure partner perspectives are well understood and considered in planning and decision-making.
  • Support product teams by providing contextual insight, validation, and partner impact analysis—without owning product decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by bringing stakeholder and market perspectives into cross-functional discussions.
  • Identify opportunities for new partnerships or enhancements that align with product direction and organizational strategy.
  • Monitor trends within Canadian medical education and residency matching.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on partnership approaches, ecosystem positioning, and sector dynamics.
