About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic Public Relations Assistant Director to join our EY US External Communications team. This position will play a critical role in elevating the external presence of senior leaders through integrated communications efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong storytelling capabilities, media relationships and experience advising senior stakeholders. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and a proven track record in managing complex communications projects. You will be responsible for development and execution of executive communications programs by shaping clear, differentiated narratives that strengthen senior leader’s visibility in the market. This includes turning complex business priorities into compelling stories, and driving external engagement through earned media strategy, content development and amplification across social platforms, and identifying, securing and preparing executives for speaking opportunities and industry events. You will work cross-functionally with executives, senior communications leaders, marketing and the social media team to drive results and maintain strong operational discipline by tracking performance, managing content and approvals, and delivering high-quality, executive-ready materials.

Requirements

  • Eight-plus years of experience in PR roles
  • Experience working with PR agencies, either as an agency professional or as an in-house client
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities: demonstrated by strong executive presence, attentive listening and critical thinking, and interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Ability to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise and easily digestible manner for broad audiences
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including the development of others
  • Ability to take initiative and work efficiently in a remote setting
  • Poise and confidence to professionally interact with senior leaders and reporters

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of executive communications programs by shaping clear, differentiated narratives that strengthen senior leader’s visibility in the market.

  • Activating the PR cycle: developing media relations strategies, tracking relevant news stories and outlets, identifying mediagenic content and opportunities, researching and vetting reporters, writing persuasive pitches, engaging with media, supporting spokespeople on interviews (prepping, staffing).
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and managing expectations.
  • Managing external PR agencies and internal collaborators to advance executive positioning and key campaigns.
  • Contributing to broader storytelling opportunities tied to firm strategy, sectors and growth areas.
